I have a Kenwood TS940S-AT. The AT version has an automatic antenna tuner. I’ve also added a digital PIEXX board. This allows it to do digital modes. In fact I’ve done a lot of FT8 with it and some imaging.
It’s in pristine condition. Non-smoking environment. No scratches or dents. I even sent to to Ham Dave, which is a guy that refurbishes, cleans, and re-calibrates them to factory specs. He cleaned and calibrated it. Here is the quick breakdown:
Complete alignment in accordance with the Kenwood Service Manual, measurements to verify specification level performance, and on-the-air testing to verify communication quality. The cost for full service is $425.
I have a detailed result of what he did as well. You have to see it to believe how beautiful it is. After using it I found it an awesome piece of electronic engineering.
It comes with the cables and USB audio interface that I used for digital. I also have a handheld mic, 150ft RG8/U cable, and 40M half-wave dipole antenna. Pretty much a complete setup for someone to get started or that want’s a beautiful radio that is in tip top shape. Also also have a copy of the manual. I have a PDF version of the manual and some other docs if you want those too.
Things in life change and would rather the radio go to a good home and get some good use of it. I know I will take a beating selling it, but it can’t be helped. I’d rather it be used than sit idle and not be used for years.
I’m asking $700 for it. With everything that’s included and also taking into the account the full service that it was given you couldn’t ask for a better radio.
You can see my log of FT8 and other log entries and see how far I’ve communicated with it.
